I regularly did stuff like this when I worked at retail. Always had this need to follow rules.
Reminds me of a time when a customer had asked me to test a product and I said that he couldn't (I was instructed not to because of company policies). So the next day he came again and asked to talk to my coworker instead. He took the product out of the box, turned it on, messed around wit it.
During the whole thing, I noticed them glancing at me and I remember hearing them say
>"Next time just come straight to me, guy's autistic and retarded"
Fuck man. I wasn't trying to be an asshole, I was just... following orders.
In any case, retail wasn't the best time of my life but it did teach me a bit of how life and people work.
