>How come chinks can put out story like this every 3 weeks while it takes 5 months for FF14? Honest question.
Real answer is that FFXIV never has any pre-rendered cutscenes (like the WuWa scene you just linked). Everything single cutscene is an in-engime cutscene which SEVERELY limits what the devs can do with a cutscene.
Why? Because if they pre rendered a scene than the player character couldn't be present. Because we need to have the WOL be in literally every scene just so they can do absolutely nothing but /nod

Xenosys was cross streaming the 7.3 release on Kick.
He had only 3 viewers over there, and his Kick account has only 300 followers. He had 600 viewers on Twitch. This is a dude with 153k followers on Twitch btw. Just how much of his viewership is even real?

>for a dead game, xiv get a ton of daily quality fan art
Yeah and virtually all of that is just art of people's OCs. There is barely ANY fanart if the actual NPC characters, besides Y'shtola (and half of that is just some autistic trust fund guy's brown futa OC fucking her). Which is shocking in a game that's supposedly as popular as FFXIV is that's driven by its story, that almost nobody actually gives a shit about the actual characters from the story (evidenced by the near total lack of fanart of them).
Your average gacha character has more fanart than all of the Scions combined.

The Scions are basically like if the Justice League were made up of a bunch of powerless normies and Superman (the WOL) who singlehandedly does all the actual superhero work. I have no idea why the writers wrote this organization of Primal fighters where literally NONE of them gave the Blessing of Light which is needed to actually FIGHT primals and not get tempered. What the fuck were these hack writers thinking?

Homestuck why do you keep pretending the mod is on your side? Everyone know that they despise XIV posters, so why would you think they'd have any problem either the guys who keep shitting up these threads with spam? What reality do you live in where the /v/ jannies want to prot3ct XIV threads from schizos?

>Interviewer: It seems that Y'shtola's popularity is on the rise again among the community, perhaps due to the impact of "that" scene. Do you have any behind-the-scenes stories to share with us about?
>Yoshida: I was hesitant about that scene. There were parts where I felt like I was going too far. I think it's important to be careful not to make Y'shtola into a joke. It's true that within the community, she's often called "Mama" and picked up by everyone, but I don't think it's right to rely on that.
>I really want to portray the character of Y'shtola, and I don't like dragging out a part that only lasts one episode. So, there is a limit to what I can do. By the way, I heard that Kayano-san (Kayano Ai-san, who voices Y'shtola) also played a considerable number of different roles.
NO FUN ALLOWED. NO INTERESTING CHARACTER MOMENTS ALLOWED. NO CHARACTER GROWTH ALLOWED. EVERY CHARACTER MUST BE COMPLETELY 1 DIMENSIONAL AND NEVER GROW OR CHANGE EVER. NOBODY DEVELOPS. NOBODY DIES. NOTHING EVER HAPPENS. BUY THE LATEST Y'SHTOLA MERCH.

None of this will happen because Yoshi P despises any form of character growth. Hell he won't even let any of them show any sort of depth. Y'shtola had ONE(1) scene where she had a silly moment and he had a meltdown and demanded the writers NEVER do that again.

I remember when Y'shtola had a personality for 5 seconds, than Yoshi P got mad and made sure that would never happen again, because in Yoshida's mind, a character who is a "serious" character can NEVER have an unserious moment.
>Yoshida on that Y’shtola scene: “I really was at a loss what to do… There was a part of me that felt, aren’t we getting a bit carried away here? One point we pay attention to is not to turn Y’shtola into a joke. For sure, within the community, you’ve got things like people calling her ‘mummy’, but it would be wrong to indulge that. Properly speaking we should handle Y’shtola’s character properly, and I don’t much like just drawing on this one character trait. So, I felt this is the breaking point and we shouldn’t go further than this. By the way, I hear Y’shtola’s voice actor Kayano Ai performed a lot of different takes on this scene.” He continued: “I’m thinking we should stop breaking the characters any more than this. This time, it ended up with Y’shtola having a magical girl phase where she was self-consciously cute [laughs bitterly].”
