Every caster has to go mines because there is no garauntee that your purple seal/staff will have the nightlords weakness, getting a +1/+0 with the best spell for the nightlord is super easy by comparison

comfy augur stomp, by mid day 2 I was already having trouble finding anything better than what I had in my inventory. routing for gaol buffs is so funny.

So do the "adds x to attacks" only work for the same type? Say I pick up a bow that gives my attacks magic or fire damage that I have in off hand, will it work on my sword I wield in main hand?
