Why are there no Deus Ex clones? It’s probably the most acclaimed game of all time, yet it has had fairly limited direct influence. Most indie imsims are closer to SS2 and Thief, and even the other DE games have quite different gameplay from the original.

Deus Ex is slightly overrated
The atmosphere and level choice are phenomenal, but the combat and stealth are just abysmal.
It's not an Ocarina or MGS, but it's still up there.
