The secret to Guardian is to drop the shield when you load in and just equip regular str or quality weapons you do plenty of damage.
The shield just doesn't work in Nightreign, unless they make Guardian's shield reflect damage relic scale with his shield and do like 200-300-400 etc damage then it just doesn't work. As it stands the reflect does less than 100.

>But why not play Raider if you're not using the shield?
Guardian's skill is nice for CC during day 1/2 and Guardian's ult is a free ress on a short cooldown. Make sure you have a post damage restore relic equipped and you can commit to some pretty silly attacks and come out at the same health of 95% what you had vs you doing literally nothing with a shield.

There's also no diversity with Guardian shield playstyle, you run the charged halberd attacks generate storm and yes this makes Guardian do the most posture damage in the game by a mile and guarantees you aggro despite you doing low damage but you're forced into using halberds and nothing else.
Shield Guardian is also useless on literally every Nightlord.

The truth is that the shield is just bad, too many moves chip through your block or deadzone you and hit you for full damage through your guard and it eats up a slot that passive effects can go into.
Take partial hp restore from post-damage attacks and increased duration on Guardian skill and evergoal dmg boost.

Guardian is better played without a passive, Rev and Executor already do this so its nothing unusual. Guardian's dodge is better than you think as it recovers quickly and Guardian has the stamina to use it freely.
Just grab some quality/str weapons and go from there. You'll hold aggro with long r1 chains thanks to your endurance + your skill
Guardian ult gets 50% cd reduction if you don't hold it to make the aoe dmg reduction area so use it often.

Yes the posture dmg from 1 handed charged R2s is incredible with the relic.
Pretty confident its the most posture damage in the game by far.
Regular enemies in 1 hit, Crucible Knights in 3 hits. Any boss in 4 or less.

Guardian is unfortunately pretty bad if you don't have specific relics on him.
>Dmg on Guard
>Ult heals
>Skill duration
>Halberd wind charge

With these relics Guardian unironically breaks the game in a co-op environment.

Seemingly not many are aware but you don't need to do much dmg to hold aggro, use your charged skill and use Charged 1 handed attacks.
You will posture break any enemy in the game except the nightlord in 4 swings and you will have aggro on the 1st or 2nd swing. You won't lose aggro because dmg on block does a good job of holding aggro its just not any good at getting aggro in the first place.

I do believe Guardian is one of those characters that could use a buff sure, but I still dont believe he's bad. Correct me if I'm wrong but his steel guard can still stance break field bosses like the falling star beasts charge right? I dont believe Executor can do that and that's pretty big. I do agree it should block more, perhaps it should make elemental damage taken negated by 50~75% more. Another thing about Guardian too is that he's a full hard-core support character not a damage dealer by any means. Him fighting anything and being a contributor to dps unless he gets some whack pulls isn't gonna happen and I think that's OK. His ult can literally save an entire run by itself that alone is huge. Agreed for him having natural aggro draw tho, that needs to happen, at least when steel guard is active. I still don't think he's bad tho, just misunderstood and needs some love.

Most of small and medium shields I encounter have garbage passives, and birb is VERY reliant on good passives too
It's kinda difficult m8

I am begging people to stop going for Astel every single Noklateo match no matter the circumstance.
No, we cannot kill Astel if we've already spent half the day before we even reach the city and we're level 10.
