The issue is you're coming at the game from a purely mechanical perspective instead of letting yourself get even a little bit immersed in the world and your character. Vanilla is not a mechanics game, mob and boss mechanics are about as simple as it gets. You need to treat it like an adventure.

The game just werks 95% of the time and the 3% of the time it doesn't it's usually just goofy ass shit. The other 2% is actual serious stuff like Rogue poisons.

So how exactly do things work now that Epoch isn't handling the server? Do they just hand off the assets and scripting to the server team and they make sure it just werks?

I hit level 15 and I wouldn't mind a wipe. I don't think the GMs will be able to catch everyone that exploited and a wipe would at least provide the perception of having 'tegridy.
