They signed Teo because he was a fan favorite last year. They signed Conforto because they assumed he'd be better than he is(his 2024 stats weren't terrible) and didn't want other teams to have him. The Dodgers in the offseason focused a lot on signing players that either caused them trouble in the past like Tanner Scott, or they just didn't want another team to have, like Yates. Were some of those signings just good in concept based on player performance? Yes! Were they super retarded in reality and only hindered the team this year? Also yes!

media coverage of Ohtani has gone down since they realized 50/50 2 is never happening and his pitching isn't living up to what they thought it'd be. unironically i think more people care more about whether or not Cal Raleigh will beat the AL single season home run record than whether or not the Dodgers can repeat a world series appearance

>Injure all their pitchers
>have to call up AAA guys who aren't ready
>have less time with them when they are good enough because they've already wasted service time prematurely filling in for all the guys you injured
no way that's sustainable

Ohtani doesn't want to risk hurting his arm now that he's finally able to pitch again, so he won't steal ever again

>Tanner Scott(Ohio) made Ohtani look foolish at the plate to a point the Dodgers signed him so he wouldn't have to face him
>Jake Cronenworth(Michigan) makes Ohtani look stupid on the mound to a point that he stopped pitching a couple weeks after that game
