It goes against the game's fundamental design, plain and simple. Stardew is, in concept, a game about taking care of your land in a breathing world while dealing with the passage of time. Ginger Island, however, kills all of this. You're living in some ugly bumfuck shack far away from your land, friends and loved ones in a weird place where it's perpetually summer, and you'll spend several weeks minimum there to get all walnuts (which also feel pretty divorced from the man's game design on their own) while ignoring everything elsedue to how time or RNG based several are. And then there's the volcano which is a clusterfuck on its own with retarded RNG everywhere (bat fossil, rare chest drops, dragon teeth, enchantments, etc) and the focus on the game's shittiest part, the combat.
>TL;DR FUCK Podunkian
