Doesn't do much of anything with its central conflict of the war on earth to the point that you have to wonder why the fuck is it even there to begin? Even the /biz/ aspect of the show seems incredibly undercooked. But the biggest indication that the writing staff were essentially making shit up as they went on is that they had three characters stuck in a room for 4 episodes because they didn't know what the fuck to do with them with the only thing of note to sprung out from it was a half baked love story done only so the audience would feel bad for a murderer. I always laugh when people say that WfM should have been longer when it barely had enough of a plot to fit 25 episodes to begin with.
