Island Sanctuary's biggest issue for me is that it just felt too arbitrarily slow until you automated it, then it was pointless to go out and do gathering circuits. You only ever got a 1x of maybe two different items from a gather point and the way the game handles gather points refreshing was AIDs. To compare it to OSRS it'd be like if you were gathering ore from the mining area outside of Varrock but the ore didn't refresh until you went and gathered a bunch of oak logs. So once you gather all the items you do want you'd just have to fuck off for like 5 minutes instead of it just refreshing within the little cluster you're working with. What if I just want to stand there and autistically gather rock salt for an hour? Not to mention some nodes were really spaced apart for no reason. It's all these little niggling things that made it not fun for me.
