Real talk what was the purpose of 7th gen? Everything was comfy and laid back in 5th-6th gen. PC gaming was just a disc you put in the working windows box. Then it's like 7th gen hit and the rage in gaming was throwing insults over the internet in shooters. 8th gen was like a joke and GTAV was the perfect bridge between 7th gen edge and 8th gen capitalism. 7th gen felt like the peak edge moment before everything felt dead with 8th gen and beyond even if the games were a big letdown it felt kind of special desu.

Beat Donkey Kong a week or so ago, been struggling to find something to play afterwards given that I don't want to have to cut it off for Silksong. Been flitting between a bunch of games as a result.

Sidescape is a cool metroidvania/zelda clone that switched between sidescrolling and isometric 2D. Axis Unseen is a really neat archery game where you explore a wilderness and shoot cryptids; it's rough around the edges but has endless atmosphere. Redeemer is a fun short brawler, only about 4 hours but has a really good rhythm. Right now I'm playing Monster Sanctuary and annoyed at the amount of fiddly bullshit, and am trying The Last Hero of Nostalgaia because "Evoland x Dark Souls" sounded decent.

I've been replaying F-Zero GX via the Switch 2 Gamecube games. I had it as a kid but never unlocked the cool shit. I just beat Mission 7 and 8 in story and am going through the cups on Expert. 7 took a fuckton of tries. Shit's fun. My goal is to beat the story on Normal for now and then also unlock the AX cup.

Otherwise recently started Resident Evil 8 and am grinding in Fate/Grand Order. I also finally managed my goal of beating Act 4 with all four characters in Slay the Spire so I'm gonna finally retire that game and wait for the sequel.

leveling a gnome rogue to 30 so I can get to the cataclysm zones in chromie time. playing through entire expansions one after the other to "unlock" new classes and races. beating cataclysm will get me to the dark iron unlock scenario, then I'll make one to play through pandaria so I can make pandaran and monks. weird restrictions are what make open ended games fun for me, making cosplay builds using only certain weapons or spells was crack to me when ds2 and 3 were new. I'm also going to watch a bunch of promotional cataclysm stuff after I hit 30 but before I start anything relating to cataclysm to really feel like it's 2010 and stuff.

don't wanna touch prism launcher since that might just flare up my modding autism and make me waste another few months perfecting a certain idea of what I want an instance to feel like through testing a million mods and configuring them all. currently have one at like 90% completion, has it's own resource pack with music and stuff that I manually stitched together through several packs to get exactly what I want. base was a 1.12.2 WoW resource pack since some team went overboard in making one, fit the high fantasy theme I was going for since it had incredible detail in menu textures for chests and inventory and stuff, deleted the rest, music was shit I downloaded from a YouTube to mp3 thing that I changed to OGG files along with what was already there, several tiny texture changes from touhou packs and other random things I like for minor things, and added a few separate packs for early beta textures, sound effects, and lighting. won't get into the 200 mods lol

Honestly, I like it without her here. We have a weird kind of symbiotic relationship, wherein she has very low self-esteem and a past with a bunch of abuse from family and exes, which makes her cling to people who simply treat her alright, and I function much better and am able to pursue my personal goals when someone's around. She's also the mommy type, which is good. However, we don't really share any interests, and I don't find her particularly attractive (to be fair, neither am I), so spending time together is sometimes awkward and sex feels like fulfilling a duty. So I have really mixed feelings about keeping her around, I guess.

Spent the last 2 weekends playing the BF6 beta with my old highschool buddies. We all moved after highschool and kept in touch over BF3 and later BF4 eventually when that came out. Everyone skipped all the other games but 6 is getting the boys back together. We made an oath to play 6 on launch and when we saw the classic skins in the 2042 free pass we begrudgingly decided to suffer together and grind for them. I dropped the game for a while because I needed a break. Finished Fate Extra last night so it m hungry for a little more action. It’s a good game but I’m kinda lost. This is why I hate dropping a game half way through. Except for an adventure game with moon logic, that shit feels like going back to wonderland.

Also Living an extremely frugal life feels like I’m giving society the middle finger. I love it. Best part about it is that my windows looks out at a main road and that shit is jammed in the morning and the afternoon. I finally got around to playing Insomniac's Spider-Man on PC . Wasn't feeling it at first but had a really good time. I really liked the whole story with Norman and Doc Ock.

Mobile games are nice because you can play them for a few minutes here and there, anywhere, at any time.
When I play a game on console or PC, I feel like I need to set aside a large block of time to even start it up.
