Am I the only one who thinks it's kind of weird that Chrome removing MV2 extensions has caused a way bigger melty than when they removed Flash? Flash actually increased the value proposition of the web, most extensions are just botnet exit nodes. I use an adblocker same as the next guy but I was way more angry about Flash going out with such little resistance. Not a single person ever switched browsers over that.

My boomer relatives are stuck in a fake AI slop jewtube algorithm blackhole. They're watching shit that's outright false. And I'm not talking about them watching something political that I disagree with. I mean stuff with basic facts that are false, like videos about celebrities that die in horrific ways that aren't actually even dead, or videos of celebrities committing heinous crimes that that they're not even accused of in real life. They're losing connection to reality.

I warned them, I showed them that it's fake and they're still watching it.

Major happening, Windows 7 support has been discontinued by Google. As well as earlier Windows plus the Lynx and Links browser (mentioned on the orange site). It looks like Google is upping the browser requirements from when it used to work on almost anything due to the increasing amount of AI features plus also cracking down on companies that scrape Google results.

What ever you think about old web browsers and operating systems, Google had the resources to support them, and now chooses not to. Expect a lot of ewaste from this.
