I never did see it this way.
Like literally never.
I really liked how detailed and realistic the faces of everyone are etc.

Idle animations exist because people can't physically stay still and, in case of more involved activities, it serves an actual purpose, but excess wasted movement is still bad there (e.g. boxing).
There is a difference between a character bouncing around a little and their whole being turning into liquid from slightest movement. Pic rel is a good example (even if the original animation involved this much bounce, why is his hat going into the stratosphere?)
This is a common indie vtuber problem. Doki's model suffers from it too whenever she's turning around. You can also see something similar in some HoloGra episodes (and a lot of EN animations) and I fucking hate it (easiest way to spot it is when a character's head dips before making another movement for no reason).

They've been doing the equivalent of pic related to all games. Mario Kart is overanimated too, Mario Wonder is known for the same (people here call it "forced animation"), DK behaves like a retard now and even Link in Breath of the Wild was already making "hm" "lalala" faces like a faggot while cooking.
Dunno why Nintendo is so adamant in making everything not only overly childish, babyfied. It was fine as "for all ages", their current direction wants to make everything lame.
