I literally calculate the cheapest calories per $ and buy them at bulk when they are at sale and then ration them over time.
Like literally eating stale bread, drink only water or like a bag of peanuts when it's on sale. I'm usually skinny but when I am somewhere where I'm offered (free) food I will eat an insane amount and even try to sneak some food home. I'm currently overweight though because I keep raiding the office kitchen during breaks, knowing I won't have to buy food for myself and I can cut calories in the future when they inevitably lock the cabinets or someone complains and won't starve because I have a fat reservoir now.
