I'm still shocked McVay fell for the Jimmy's a wop oh no meme considering he's been around the NFC West long enough to know Jimmy's limitations. But maybe he was just betting on Jimmy playing like one or two games at some point.

But in any case, if Jimmy has to play any extended time the Rams are fucked. He will get hurt after 3 or 4 games and once Jimmy's hurt he checks out mentally and he'll just sit back and cash checks for the rest of the season.

>The home AFCCG against the worst Mahomes Chiefs team while Lamar had the league’s best roster was especially unforgivable

I could understand losing that game if Lamar had played well and just got a bad beat when the Chiefs scored with 5 seconds left or something. But he put up 10 points at home. I don't know how you can watch that game and still think it's ever going to happen. Elite DCs will always shut him down

wow, picture me susprised. Nothing inherently wrong with these two things, btw, but it's funny that this is the case EVERY SINGLE TIME.

For some reason the Browns seemed convinced they actually had a super loaded team because they were looking at Mayfield like he was the weak link, which is just fucking funny in retrospect. But if their heads were that far up their asses they probably thought they were Watson's preferred destination and at worst they'd have to match the other offers but not blow them out of the water.
I don't think they just dump Mayfield for a whole lot of nothing unless they felt supremely confident about the Watson signing. Then when they got a reality check and realized he was prepared to go elsewhere they got backed into a corner and had to offer him whatever he wanted because he was the only marquee qb free agent and signing some ancient vet to a cheap deal after trading away your young #1 pick would seem like giving up on their delusional contender status.

And the real Ironic part is signing a vet for a cheap deal actually did work out with them with Flacco so they should have just done that and they'd still have a bunch of picks and cap space instead of Watson's useless ass

The Trail Blazers just gave a 35 year old undersized guard who was already declining before he tore his achilles a three year deal despite knowing he won't even be able to play for a season and will be 37 when he finally returns. And they're patting themselves on the back and making hype videos because the completely washed guy who is going to contribute nothing and lead them nowhere made the playoffs with them once. Which apparently is enough to earn infinite cred with Portland fans.

This is a franchise that used to have finals MVPs and Dream teamers. Now if you have a good playoff game once you're a fucking legend whose return as bargain bin pickup is cause for celebration? At least the Clippers can delude themselves into thinking they're a fringe contender. The Blazers are just fucking sad. If you're going to be a pathetic doormat at least go young and have some upside. Pissing away money on some lifetime achievement award contract for a guy who didn't really achieve anything is the most pathetic thing I've seen in a long time. It's like throwing a party for your kid because he graduated from continuation school with a C-minus average

Watching an offensive player deliberately initiate contact for the sole purpose of fishing for free throws is cheese and a constant reminder that basketball is a fundamentally flawed game with broken officiating. It's like watching someone cheese a difficult video game by finding a loophole in the AI. It works but it's not impressive

I'm honestly shocked that Ainge of all people, who played on some all-time great teams and has been involved with the league forever, fell for the muh upside meme like he hasn't seen a million physically gifted retards who never amounted to shit because they thought the mission was already accomplished just by existing. This guy reeks of "will give few fucks as long as he gets paid and will point fingers at everyone but himself when he underachieves."

This guy has accomplished nothing, absolutely fucking nothing, and still thought he could call his own shot.

>There has to be a rational explanation for why he is able to have the occasional all-star caliber game when most of the time he plays like a guy who should be at best coming off the bench

It's because he's frail and is always either nursing some injury or sick. And he's not one of those guys who can really gut through something. He'll play but be completely ineffective.

Like, congrats for trying but that 13 points and 2 assists in game 7 wasn't all that helpful
