Meta is too shit. Even ignoring sword for a moment, draft formats are utter fucking garbage when the meta is dominated by "ANSWER ME IMMEDIATELY OR DIE" bombs. It strips out most of the capacity for skill expression and turns it all into luck. Who gets the option to draft the most explosive bombs? Making optimal plays only goes so far when your pool of cards can at best trade 1:1 and the opponent just windmill slams one of their four gildarias.
Worse, the economy is shit. Assuming the the skill based matchmaking does its job and rigs your matches towards 50:50 win rate, in the long run it is better to just hoard gold and buy packs directly than it is to play take2. That's just a kick in the balls for how long that it takes to play out a round of take2 matches.
The meta will take a while to fix, but in the short term they can improve the entry fee/reward structure to actually fucking encourage players to engage with the format.
