Good old video games are still good and worth playing.
It's not some contrarian reason of "they don't make 'em like they used to" since I still enjoy a ton of non /vr/ games coming out now. It's just those ones also have the same design mentality of retro games, where you're sold a complete package to sink your teeth into. That combined with the ease of use of Retroarch on my Deck/MM+ and I really have no reason to not play them.
If you're also asking why I play video games in general, I'm passionate about them (gamedev) and I like playing new (to me) video games in order to learn as much as I can. As well as just really enjoy the way games work, and figuring them out
