Very sad about life, used to be a composer but don't want to do that that anymore cause reasons. Wanted to make do on a promise to learn to draw years ago and figured with these circumstances its the perfect time. I started doing drawabox but it's kinda making me wanna be an hero and not want to practice. The thing is I got some other issues in my life too --

After a lot of fucked up shit happened I became a fat fuck. That's compounding all of this depression shit. I just realized that I need to do something creative to exist in this world become otherwise it's too damn hard.

Sorry for yapping as the kids say but I just go no motivation for anything and I really hate drawabox. Posted a while ago about how to give eye form, now looking for tips on how to color and render. Ive tried color picking (which you shouldnt do for studies I know) and giving it base colors, but whenever I try to blend the colors it just looks wrong. It's been ages, but I once was enjoying a semi-regular thread on here where an anon would post a canvas with some abstract paint thrown on and we would try to see shapes in it and draw that. Why do people here seem so hostile to the idea of wanting to make money/a living from art these days? I remember when a shitton of people were aspiring to become professional concept artists

Saw this dude doing daily studies and posting them, looked like a solid idea so I’m shamelessly stealing it. Gonna force myself to draw every day because my “progress” has been flatlining harder than my will to live.
Plan is: 20 one-minute gesture studies, slap a face on each one so I don’t get dead fish faces, then pick one sketch and actually finish it.
