What do you guys own?
I have a MVS, PGM and CPSII.
Unfortunately I don't own a cab only two superguns hooked up to two crt televisions one for horis and the other verticals.

The cutoff period for what should be considered "retro" in "retro games" before but "not retro" after, should be around the time companies stopped including ambient drum & bass and jungle tunes in videogame soundtracks on a regular basis.

I'm serious.

Did it deserve the black sheep status?

Can I beat CVIII within the next 3 hours? I game over'd at 7-06 and I'm back at the beginning of level 7 now. And can I beat it without yelling fuck and waking someone up?

What went wrong?

Just played through this for the first time. Skipped over it for years because I assumed it would be dog shit but I haven’t had this much fun with a sonic game since Sonic Rush for the DS. This game is extremely based. Not too hard to where you want to kill yourself, but not easy enough to be considered a kids game, 3D renders turned into great looking sprites, and a killer soundtrack.

Why does no one regard this as highly as other Sonic games? Is it because of the isometric perspective? Sure it’s a little clunky but once you get used to the games physics it’s a pretty good game.

You should play shmups.
Don't worry about finding one that's "easy" or "for beginners"; they're all hard, just pick what you think is the coolest or best one. The only difference is time, and the really good ones have enough depth to not get tiresome. You just have to change your mindset, credit-feeding is acceptable for practice but it's not beating the game. Chase the 1cc. Easily the most gratifying experience in gaming.

Also "memoslop" isn't real, it's a meme non-players made up to describe routing

Boomers might be able to 1CC all the classic NES titles while blindfolded (Battletoads, GnG, Ninja Gaiden), but they can't 100% Crash Bandicoot 1 in under 2 hours like I can.

Underrated as fuck multiplayer game. Whether I’ve played this with my best friend or my sister, it’s a fun multiplayer game. Just don’t play it often to keep it fresh. Playing it a few times a year for the last 8 years or so, and I still run into new trivia questions. Give it a try with your friends. Probably even better drunk. Never tried though

This would have been better received if it was called System Shock 3. It plays very much like a dumbed down System Shock 2 (which isn't a bad thing).

The Japanese video game preservation society is out of money. The project, in which a white person in Japan buys rare Japanese video games and magazines with donation money and keeps them in a warehouse which only he and his friends are allowed access to, will close by September if they aren't given more money. Since they have a policy of not making ROM dumps of any games or scanning any magazines it's anyone's guess what will happen to the collected material.

I really appreciate when game's have a novel structure and stick to them, don't give up on it halfway through. The idea that every single game has to be littered with minions and pitfalls in the exact same way as every action adventure is fucking boring. Its more because Wander is letting a demon into his soul.
And you can have a moment of respect for these huge ancient beasts, but that doesn't make them your happy animal buddies. The game is actually more subtle than that and doesn't need to have a blatant "Wander is le bad for killing animals that are le sega system" message, because it wasn't written by a 5 year-old.

How is it possible that King's Quest was made "exclusively for the Sega System" when it was originally released as a DOS-Rom?
