There is no point to the game otherwise. The career mode content is short and shallow, and even when you find the characters you like there is nothing more to them after you've gone through their career mode a few times. The occasional events and new story chapters are much the same. Uma is basically a PVP game and there is little reason to play it casually unless you're just really into reading, which I am, but if I want to read something I could read much better stories elsewhere, and those stories won't ask me to open my wallet and spend hundreds of hours gambling just for the slim chance to compete in PVP races which are all determined by whaling and RNG anyway.
