Basically as a Niners fan you just kind of have to accept that they invested heavily in finding the qb of the future and they did, just not with the pick they thought they would. Since Purdy was essentially free there was no additional opportunity cost and they saved themselves from their failed evaluation by making a good choice in a later round. You can say all's well that ends well.
But at the same time it will always be true that they could have drafted at any other position of need with the Lance pick, kept the additional first rounders and then got Purdy anyway and team would be much, much better off and would have at least one more good lineman or cornerback or linebacker or receiver FUUUUUUUUCK I CAN'T PRETEND LIKE IT DOESN'T MATTER ANY MORE THREE FIRST ROUND PICKS FOR TREY FUKCING LANCE WHY WHYYY WHYYYYYY
