As it stands now, the VR space has moved absolutely dogshit glacially, all thanks to Zuckerberg trying to cash out before it even started, killing it before it was even stillborn. Chinkshit might catch up and is unironically our best bet unless the Steam Machine leaks are legit and Gabe can save us; but otherwise, if you are going to grab one, get a cheap minimally-corporate one first. VR has some amazing tech, but it's so far out of reach that you need to spend upwards of 5 figures to get that experience; anything less is comparable to cheapshit, so you may as well just stick to cheapshit.
Remember
>VR is a performance nuke, you need a good rig for it, and play on lower settings. Lagging in VR WILL make you throw up.
>Beatsaber is not the only game, VR online earthbending is kino and high skill ceiling, VR shooter is terrorist training
>Alyx is still the best game made for VR
>All RE Engine games are VR compatible, even the ones that aren't (RE Framework that shit). VR Monster Hunter is awesome.
>women do actually play VRchat in notable numbers, but if you're an angsty loser in real life, you'll still be a loser in VR (the only thing it does is remove the physical appearance factor, while doubling the emphasis on your voice). They're all also there because most of them have body issues / mental issues / attentionwhores with 15 guys in their DMs
>an equal amount of trannies use it; use careful intuition to know when the avatar is a foid or a troon
>there is an absolute furfag infestation, they 100% bankroll the industry, know your place in this ecosystem
>lardasses in motion will still waddle, no matter how thin their avatar is
>remind yourself that this is a cybernetic dystopia, and even if you plan on diving into the goon abyss, much like made in abyss, the further you go in, the more of a tax it takes on you to leave
>a good swivel chair for 360' vision is an alternative to forking out for full motion controls - keep a mind for wires though
