EU Trip /trv/
I am planning to take train rides from one country to another, but when I check out the hotel I don't want to drag my luggage across the city. When I went to Japan, they offered lockers to put in my luggage so I could sightsee during the day then take it out by evening to train ride elsewhere. Does EU countries like Paris, Amsterdam, and Luxembourg offer similar services?

Are there any countries left that give you the original travel experience like it used to be?

>Get on the plane with valid English people and out usual mix of shit immigrants, gets off with them and see some along the way to hotel.
Manage to to get a hotel out of the way enough to avoid them but somehow still have some tourists around.
>Travel out of the capital to more scenic town. Look at people waiting for the train.

>Oh boy here we go again.

>Walk around the town trying to soak in the feel being in a foreign country, see a few familiar faces along with other tourists. Hear London accents, takes me out of it totally.
At this point every holiday is a group holiday

In before go to non touristy places. Third world Balkan countries that saw 20 tourists a year who were all hardcore backpackers are the same way now.

What's a good place to travel for Halloween parties now that Tokyo got completely enshittified and ruined by geriatric retards?

I guess Seoul was fun before they got crowd crushed. Are there still events there?

Is Osaka a good alternative or is it just people trying to replicate that nostalgic feel of Tokyo and failing?

Any other good options in Asia that match the old Tokyo vibe?

Where in the world has the best shore snorkeling? What about accessible shipwrecks? I mean where you can just walk off the beach. I really don't like going out with tours. Also now i am able to equalize my ears to a pretty deep depth so i feel like there's a whole new world to explore.
I swam around a Japanese shipwreck in northeast Bali. I swam through a cave in Honduras. Those are my top 2 experiences for shore snorkeling.

Going to Mexico with a buddy in a couple weeks. Any tips for not having my organs harvested and getting mugged? We start in Mexico City for a couple days. We wanted to focus on Mexico City + the parts south of that (like Acapulco and Puerto Escondido).

I already dread how long I will have to extend my cut after the visit just because of the god damn tasty food.

Some additional info:
>two mid thirties guys
>traveling with backpacks
>good but not fluent in spanish
>want to celebrate Dia de los Muertos, but Oaxaca is already booked out
>want to mostly chill, enjoy country, culture, food, people, weather and night life
>not too big on touristic sight seeing, but if anything worthwhile is nearby and worth seeing, sure why not

First time solo abroad in a foreign country Archived /trv/
I'm going to go and stay in Copenhagen solo for around 5 days in November in 10 days and I'll be honest I'm a little nervous. I've travelled before on my own to Edinburgh and Belfast but I feel like I haven't prepared enough for it even though I got the basics I need : Warm coat, power adapter, enough clothes, debit card due to it being a cashless city (I'm not sure how transaction fees work abroad)

Is there any tips that you can give me about the city and things to do. Towards the end of my trip I want to visit Malmo.

Toon Lagoon Edition

>Last Thread: >>2826026

>What is this thread? Why are there two companies?
Disney parks were initially founded as a way to celebrate the culture and history of America and provide middle class families with a fun-filled immersive experience. While theme parks are the main focus of these threads (and the title of the general) there is also discussion on other roller coasters & rides, as well as the parks themselves and trip planning too. That's where /rcg/ comes in.
>Can I talk about Disney/Universal parks in this thread?
Absolutely! Disney and Universal are currently competing for the Orlando theme park market and beyond! Universal is opening new resorts all around the US and new continents!

/hitchhiking/ thread Balkans Edition Archived /trv/
I'm currently hitchhiking through rural Balkans (Serbia at the moment), Croatia->Bosnia->Montenegro->Albania->Kosovo->Montenegro->Serbia->Romania->Serbia

Having the best time, people inviting me into their homes to drink, to sleep at their place, offering me food, asked me to go hunting rabbits with them, etc etc.

People even offer me money, altho I try to turn them down.

I'm Slovenian so people probably feel a kinship with me for being a fellow Slav, but I think any traveler/hitchhiker through this part of the world would have similar experiences.

Its insanely low budget between balkan hospitality/sleeping in a tent/cheap hostels in big cities (15-20 euro a day).

Any fellow hitchhikers here?

Any trips to travel on a budget? Do you work out your budget in advance? How much do you expect to spend in a one week visit to a foreign country?

i make about 8€/hour in europe and looked up affordable flights online, prefferably to cheap countries so i was looking towards eastern europe or asia, also because im interested in their food and culture.

Looked up a roundtrip flight to poland for about 120€ and found accomodation for the given week for about the same price too for example, and i have a polish online friend that can advise me and tell me the local prices and who i could meet up there for some fun times

Another dream of mine would be to go to a poor place in southern asia and rent a motorbike for like 20€/day so i could explore the country on my own without depending on public transport

Ideas for NewYearEve + 4 weeks vacation in January Archived /trv/
Help me decide
1.) Athens or Thesaloniki in NYE, Then driving around pelopones and visiting some islands. I am interested in seeing greek tragedy live with subtitles and any ruins/temples, totally interested in this. Studying included
2.) Flight to Laos Vientianne and go by Railway China Train to visit: VangVieng, LuangPrabang, with last stop in Kunming.
Or other way around - NYE in HongKong, then flight to Kunming, there start my epic train trip and just 3 weeks get out where i fancy, see some cool places in China and Laos. How is studying situation, probably poorly? So if time will allow i can catch flight Vientanne->Pattaya for good ending for the trip.
3.) Tokyo in NYE - i heard they are visiting family and Tokyo may not be that fun back then and closed? Catch speed train to Osaka too. It may be fun and all, but it may be cold and ugly in Japan in december/january, so not sure about that option. Studying included.
4.) Maybe back in Thailand - but start from ChiangMai - NYE there or in Pai. Then maybe catch flight to HCMC Vietnam (i heard that Hanoi is cold i dont want to go where its cold), look at cool museums about Vietnam war. Then flight or bus to Angkor Wat. After seeing everything there , catch bus or flight to Pattaya. Studying included. I already spend NYE in Bangkok, it was so so i am not very excited to go back to BKK desu, not very excited about Thailand at the moment.

Which of these would be best for slightly awkward 30yo boomer solo traveller? No uber-normie/chad crowd but also no totally autistic population that would look at me weird for attempting smalltalk? Which would be most fun in NYE? Which most doable.

Unique & Iconic Accommodation Experences Archived /trv/
Sometimes now when traveling I search primarily for accom, rather than the destination itself.
Sometimes it's nice just to chill the fuck out in a kino setting and larp as something, rather than going to carbon copy city #5.

Recently came across Adrere Amellal in Siwa Oasis - a hotel on an oasis in the Sahara with no electricity for guests, personal servants, and a "5-star restaurant experience". You basically get to larp an ambassoador traveling through the Mali Empire. King Charles stayed here before.

Any other examples?
It doesn't have to necessarily be generic 5 star hotel resorts, but places to stay which are an experience within themselves.

I've personally done this in Vietnam, Bali, Taiwan, and Nicaragua, and from my research Pakistan is very easy, and even cheaper to rent than the above mentioned.

Let's make a map of all the places this is possible, for it is truly a kingly way to travel.
