Same as the IRL horse, he understood literally everything all the time. One race he had a slow start because he started fighting Air Shakur at the gate, and after it ended he seemed ashamed of his behaviour and shied away from the cameras. Also he KNEW it was a race and they wanted him to win, so he constantly bribed his trainer and jockey to give him what he wanted or he'd lose on purpose and not perform which really is pretty much the only reason he ever lost during his career.
He also knows when people go see him and loves putting on a show for them, doing faces and jumping around for the public.
