The only reason things didnt go to plan in Chapter 3 is because Board 3 was cut from the game. The entire adventure was taken out of its formulaic course because fully finished content was completely scrapped from the story.
I think its incredibly important to point out how in the Weird Route in chapter 2, you are outright skipping hours of gameplay and completely confusing Ralsei and everyone around you.
In the Chapter 4 weird route, some Dialouge choices with Susie are completely gone, along with assets like the rain, as if the choices were there, but violently torn out without much care.
Choices and content in Deltarune is intentionally being removed for the purpose of forcing you down a certain path. I don't think this is a schizo theory, I think the in-universe program you use to play the game is being manipulated
