Dess and Kris are Deltarune's Chara and Asriel
The connection is obvious on the surface as a monster and human who seemingly had a sibling-like bond that became a bad influence and led to tragedy, but the twist is that Dess is more like Chara and Kris is like UT Asriel.
Dess almost definitely stole the codes to the Shelter from her and Kris's parents and tempted Kris to follow her into the dark.

The Titans can be killed. Gerson shatters its shield just by hitting it hard enough. Kris with the Black Shard can deal thousands of damage even while its defenses are up, The Knight is much stronger and the full Black Knife would be even more effective. The Knight could have killed the Titan with ease.
Anyone interested in the long-term plan here should be wondering why Kris and The Knight have Titan-killing weapons (and The Black Shard can also be wielded by Noelle), anti-Titan armor in the form of the Shadow Mantle, and why the Twisted Sword is coded to have the same Titan-killing effect as the Black Knife.

Dess Knight was not predictable before Chapter 3 because we knew very little about Dess and The Knight
Dess Knight was confirmed in Chapter 3 & 4 because actually revealing The Knight along with an abundance of information about Dess and her history with Kris suddenly provided overwhelming evidence
"Predicting" isn't happening anymore, you're just in denial that the race is already over and we have a winner.

Asgore thinks that Dess went missing and is lost in the Dark World. Carol knows that Dess is alive and has become The Knight. Carol wants to get her daughter back to normal, and is trying to somehow twist the Prophecy and the magic evil crystals she's found as a means to that end.
Asgore telling everybody that the Dark World is real and that the Shelter which she and The Knight seem to be using as a base is the way to access it would be a major complication. She had Undyne kidnapped and seems to still be targeting Toriel because they know the other codes needed to get into the Shelter, and if anyone else (specifically us) can get in, it would be a problem.
