don't even blame the Padres for doing that, but it'd be sad if that's how his career ends. he seems like a nice guy and he did seem like he was trying his hardest, it's just he's well past his prime. I think his career warrants some little ceremonial signing where he gets to do one last at bat at Wrigley or Truist or something so he can get a standing ovation as he walks off the field instead of it ending with a failed rehab stint in the minors with an unceremonious DFA
