Threadly reminder that Iverson
>had one (1) deep playoff run in his entire career which was only possible because of blatant refball since the league thought Mr. Cool tats and the big Philly market was a better finals matchup than Mr. Boring Ray Allen and the small-market Bucks. So his only team accomplishment is making it to a finals where he got swept in 5 and the league had to cheat to get him that far
>shot a hilariously awful 42% for his career. For comparison, John Stockton shot 51%. Stephen Curry has a 3PT% equal to Iverson's regular fg%. He scored so many points by just shooting more than anyone else on his team but as you might imagine having your "best" player missing more shots than he makes is horribly inefficient, hence the not winning anything and generally being a playoff afterthought
>and this is the point where people usually say "yeah but his teammates sucked so he had to shoot that much" which is just massive cope because we saw Iverson with a team full of A+++ talent on the olympic squad he "led" to the worst finish in team USA history. He had LeBron, Duncan and Wade on his team and got btfo by Argentina. And he actually shot WORSE than he did normally. He was the team's leading scorer and he shot 38%. If he had bad teammates, he shot too much and missed more than half of them. If he had good teammates, he...shot too much and missed more than half of them. Better supporting players would have just been wasted on him
>Also, he was paired up with Carmelo at one point when Carmelo was one of the league's leading scorers, and instead of making each other better it was awkward and ineffective and he eventually became a team cancer and was told to go home and wait to be traded or released. Again, pairing him up with anyone else good was a waste because he couldn't defer or create plays for other people. All he did was shoot, and, he was a terrible shot. He was Westbrook without the rebounding or passing which is as useless as it sounds.

A what-if scenario is a plausible alternative future.

"What if the Sonics never moved?" is a what-if.
"What if the Sonics got relocated to Sri Lanka" is a fucking stupid hypothetical that's not worth discussing because it was never even a remote possibility. Things that had a 0% chance of happening are not valid hypotheticals

Embiid staying healthy and leading a team to a finals win falls into the second category. I ask you again: if the man falls to pieces every time he gets to the second round how the everloving fuck was he ever supposed to play 2 more rounds? Was he going to take the conference finals off for load management? Start megadosing sterioids?

It's a bullshit fantasy conjured up to make excuses for a fundamentally broken player. Don't ask me to take this shit seriously

well you see the answer to that is simple anon: if their opinion happens to align with me then they're right, and if their opinion doesn't align with me, then they're wrong because I'm right.
in all fairness I have seen some cases where what the overseas players are saying does generally match-up with what the pastebin anon's thoughts are, but even though they share a similar sentiment, the comments on the wikiru tend to be written from a 'glass half full' perspective that contrasts with the pastebin's overwhelming feeling of 'glass half empty'.
Which is best summed up as "despite their flaws, this girl is good because of their strengths" versus "because of their flaws, this girl is bad despite their strengths". Both have the same general understanding of the girl, acknowledging their abilities and limitations, but they have almost completely opposite opinions when it comes to the actuality of using them. Which is why I just disregard all the pastebin's opinions at this point despite still finding the summaries helpful for getting a quick understanding about a girl. He seems to only really place value on the exceptionally broken or overpowered units (which tend to be limited or paygated, with exceptions) and has filtered himself through his own metabrained mindset.

A short throw on a slant route fired off with no touch slightly behind the receiver over their back shoulder is not, in fact, a perfect throw and never has been. And what NFL team did you play for?

It's incredibly hyped (due to being an early release and old=GOOD memeing) and doesn't quite meet that wish fulfillment hype, but it's far from a bad record.

His game is 90% athleticism and he's as athletic as he's ever going to be. What's he gonna do, get younger? Grow a brain? As his explosiveness inevitably declines he'll just chuck more 3's and when his productivity diminishes he'll throw teammates and coaches under the bus to explain away his own shortcomings

If all else fails remember that RE1 is actually a very short game and can be beat in a couple hours if you know what you're doing. If you end up completely fucking yourself in terms of ammo and healing supplies you can just start over instead of trying to mimaxx your way through the rest of the game. Your second attempt will be much, much faster because you won't be totally lost or unfamiliar with the gameplay. That's how we did it back when it first came out because nobody really knew what they were doing yet. You're not necessarily supposed to plow through it your first time

And before that delusional zoomer chirps in with
>actually the first time I played it I played on hard with Chris and finished it in 1.5 hours with 5,000,0000 rounds of ammo left and zero damage
Yeah, congratulations on being a liar. Unlike you I was actually there.

Niners and Bills

Niners. Sorry Bills fans but the cakes must always have razors

Burrow. He has an all-time great statistical season then loses in the first round despite throwing 6 touchdowns because his defense gives up 50 points

EW1 was one of the, not WORST, but least fun and most predictable games I've ever played, pure shite.
The sequel was still a very janky survival horror but at least it brought some refreshing changes to the formula: The semi-open world areas and stealth mechanics actually made you feel like a survivor for the first part of the game and combat/weapons also felt better than its predecessor. Story was still utter bargain bin trite but at least EW2 was a fun-ish 3+/5 game, which was more than EW1 could've ever hoped for.

>>What persona game to start with?
3. It's generally agreed on as the one where the current formula really started to gel. I and 2 have their fans (and of course the contrarian assholes who insist that they're the only good ones) but 3 is the one where the series really took off.
3 also isn't quite as good as 4 or 5 if you ask me but that's why you play it first. If you play 3 after 4 or 5 it'll seem a little lacking in comparison gameplay-wise because they added more features in later games. 3 is the sweet spot where it's not so old that they were still working the kinks out but not so new that it's like fast-forwarding through important parts of the series' development. And play the FES version, it' a definite improvement over the original and the portable version adds some new stuff but is literally a visual novel in parts because they had to compromise to fit it all on a minidisc. FES is the best version and I don't really feel like it's debatable.
>>Why people like it?
The social sim aspect of it gives it a different vibe than most dungeon crawler RPGs and the day to day time management is a kind of logistical puzzle in itself that gives the game a unique pace. It's a nice feedback loop of exploration / grinding and wolrdbuilding / character development. And it's all presented very nicely. It's an interactive anime that's two genres in one. It's real weeb shit but if you're posting on this site that shouldn't bother you

We're talking about gameplay. V is flawed in a lot of ways but it *plays* exponentially better than any game in the series. It's the only MGS game that actually has fluid controls

Titus Groan + Gormenghast (really one narrative in 2 parts)

The Discovery of Heaven
And as meme as it sounds, LOTR, which is a book the FF franchise swipes from regularly, including VII. The whole idea of forming a party with different classes and going on a quest was practically invented by Tolkien
