Who is "everyone"? I was one of many people on /a/ who were deeply skeptical about Trigger's ability to pull off the same unhinged, zaney, raunchy and just plain fun humor in 2025 that they were able to pull off in 2012.
After all, this is 13 years later.
Not only are the Gainax guys who made PS&G much older and don't have the same young men energy they once had, they're also in a different place culture-wise, being that they're limited in how much they can express themselves by their fealty to western wokeness.
This was something that was already obvious from the moment we saw Garterbelt having his lip color changed from light pink to brown to pre-emptively prevent themselves from offending the west.
But I guess the voices of skeptics like me were simply drowned out by the endless horde of Trigger shills who mindlessly screamed "TRIGGER WILL SAVE ANIME AGAIN!!!" before PS&G2 released and are mindlessly screaming "TRIGGER HAVE SAVED ANIME AGAIN!!!!" now that PS&G2 is out.

Ah I getcha now, thanks I didn't really notice any improvement. Its nice to have it pointed out, it makes me appreciate that I havent been stagnating.

I think a big change is that when I started I was very lazy about cleaning up spills, especially when laying down the blue basecoats. "I'll just cover it later its fine" but then when I'd apply the runelord brass the spills would be noticeable.
Now because Im faster in other areas of painting (all the details like the armor shine or lightning or general highlighting are much less timeconsuming) I can take my time more on the initial basecoating aspects.

The funny thing about these video essays is how many fans of these essays literally admit that they don't actually watch or even pay attention to these essays.
