The way characters speak in this game reminds me of how sometimes in your life a concept will be brought up by someone or some form of media and then that concept will repeatedly show up in different contexts at a rapid fire pace.
Recently this was Lacquer for me. Never heard the word before, then I heard the term on a podcast, then I saw it at a hardware store, and then I saw it in Deltarune, all in the span of 2 days.

ERAM being Dess/The Knight actually fits extremely well. The Knight has been following us all this time. She's seen what's going on, even in Weird Route. Why she doesn't seem to care is questionable, but she seems rather "cruel" to Kris in the Sword games period, making them kill everyone to progress.

It also ties back to the Smashing Fighters bit in Tenna's quiz:

The Green Dinosaur/Lizard part relates back to Bratty saying she stole Asriel's first kiss. The "fiery magician girl" named "SWORD MAGICIAN" could then fit Dess. The Knight may actually literally be using Sword Magic to make all the different swords it throws at us.
It even fits well if she was indeed the Third Hero: Noelle uses Ice Magic. Another one wouldn't make sense. Instead, Dess may have used fire magic, better fitting her punk personality.
