Okay, treasures as magic mana types, interesting. I was even picturing other possibilities when I read the above post.
Are these types of cards stacked and randomly shuffled or methodically spaced out into individual piles? Will someone know they're gunning for BIOMASS or will they get SALAVGE instead and have an off turn?

One time use? Very different than where I was seeing this lead. Interesting that you have to burn it to cash it in for [card]. Either the decks are huge and you need to capture a lot of it, or costs are relatively kept low save for strong stuff going all the way up to like 2 or 3 cost of a given type.
>>Each treasure stack has a limited amount of cards. It can be a good strategy to focus down and exhaust a stack that your opponent might rely on
*nods* I'm following you so far.
>>Since an exhausted treasure stack can make cards in your hand dead, maybe every card in your hand can be discarded and turned into treasure
Yeah this is wildly different. I think that's something I'd need to see in play example to understand how to spread these mechanics around.
The win condition bit; hilarious that you ran with the chunk of time scale. I for one would love to sit down and play a game like that, would take a more dedicated group to agree to resolving a full fleet battle. The time it takes to play the game could be sliding scaled too, as only two players will resolve their games quicker because... there's fewer overall treasure piles, the territory is smaller, there isn't that much backstabbing going on?
In any case, thanks for your effort taking the idea and running with it. I'll have to ruminate on your ideas some more myself; usually a good morning brew and a contemplative sit outdoors gets the thoughts flowing for me.
