The only guys I'd want from the Cubs either have no trade clauses or just seem improbable... and not like the stankees got anyone I necessarily have faith in either. Padres clearly only want Duran from the Sox so that one is obvious. Who could we steal from the Mets that makes it an even trade? Francisco Alvarez could be alright but I also feel like he'd only be a little better than Diaz, which would be a big difference over Maldy, but not enough for me to say it's worth it...

The Padres are going to enter a 20 year rebuild this upcoming offseason.

I wouldn't be surprised if the MLBPA and the owners vote to scrap the ASG after 2028 since the majority would rather take a 4 day break and prep for a second half playoff push.
