And yes there's something to be said about the fine dining experience, but I was mostly remarking on observations about truly wealthy people who will much down on $10 worth of cheap bar food in today's times mostly because "it's good" and not because of any psyops or greater societal reasons.
When rich people started eating lobster, it was probably just because they found out it was tasty and were willing to look past any social class issues around eating good food.
Also most people rich, poor, or even working in the food industry directly don't really know that much about food at the end of the day. It's a broad subject with lots to specialize in.
