I've read parts of it (The Apparition of the Brocken and Savannah-la-Mar), which were pretty good (De Quincey constantly gets shilled on /lit/ as having one of the best prose styles of the English language). I've read On Murder Considered as One of the Fine Arts (hilarious, especially the bit about the Mannheim baker) and The English Mail Coach which were both about as good of what I've read of Suspiria.

>seven brides for seven brothers was very fun and comfy even with *the implication* looming over many scenes
It's indeed fun and comfy, but I didn't ever really get that off vibe from it and I was primed to knowing what I knew about the film going in. The brothers are all rough around the edges, but it's made pretty clear that they're basically devoid of any malice or cruelty and any time anything got even remotely out of hand Milly'd put her foot down (and Adam's shown from the outset to actually like that she'll stand up for herself) and get basically no pushback and have everyone come around to see things her way. Even the whole "Sobbin' Women" thing — as jarring as it is with the increasingly fine-grained and scrupulous attention given to consent nowadays — was still framed as more of a harebrained kind of rescue mission.
