It's not just about animation. It's the lean story telling. They introduced a whole world, new characters and then CONCLUDED the story in just 10 fucking episodes. No one else does it like that anymore. We used to tell proper stories (Cowboy Bebop, Welcome to the NHK!, or FLCL another Trigger show and my all time fav) but anime like television and film has become unweildly and bloated. Kind of like this post.
