It's pretty good, aside from some mild stupidity with the main anatagonist. Genocide route is also really well done. I'd also recommend TS!Underswap.

I do think FRIEND is a demon, but I don't think Kris is the one that summoned it.
I think it's always been around in the Dark, acting as a servant of Gaster in creation of the Deltarune world.
Then Dess found herself trapped in the Dark and the thing approached her as a "FRIEND" since she was all alone. The yellow and pink eyed cat thing is because Dess used to won a doll like that, Seam. FRIEND took a similar form to appeal to her and get her to trust it.
Now they're working together behind the scenes while Dess is doing the front facing stuff as The Knight. All the "FREEDOM" stuff is a plan FRIEND put in Dess' head that'll lead them both to finally being free.

I've fallen down the Friend schizo hole so deep I've come out the other side. I see the light. It all fits.

>Dess sent all the glitched game stuff towards Noelle to try and reach out to her back before she went mad and became the Knight
>Dess eventually became the Knight (possibly with Gaster's help)

If you REALLY wanna bring in the demon stuff, you could say it hoped into all this by taking a form Dess would want to see, similar to Seam. Sorta like a familiar from hell taking the form of a pet for a witch.
But the point is that the Friends serving Dess as a coping mechanism is just too fucking perfect of an idea here.
