It's literally the origin story of their cult preserved in the Hadiths which are sayings of Muhammad and his inner circle preserved by oral tradition and written down from witnesses with some slight variations. I believe that one version regarding the attack is Bukhari 3, Revelation narrated by Aisha(his child wife). I'm sure someone will have a big list of the craziness of its foundations and different versions of the story from different members of the circle. The "scholars"(lol) are extremely defensive of all of this because of how bad it looks visually and then try and cast doubts on it to gaslight the gullible followers as if they themselves knew Muhammad better than his own wife and followers did!
The Hadiths in general are hilarious at the random nature of them and insane beliefs Muhammad had. The internet was the worst thing to have ever happened to Islam, it exposed the insanity, bonkers theological claims and delusion to those who delve into it. pic related.
