I've been following these targets with a bit more stamina pumping and skills. Power is pretty important for her best styles but she runs in a bunch of races with longer final straights where speed matters a lot.

Look at your horse, if they have A in certain stats, like Turf you want to run Turf races. Front/Pace/Late/End are race positions and you can use this chart to determine how many stat points you want to aim for. Ideally, your support deck will weigh towards one or more of these stats.

Use the following image as a ROUGH guideline(!) of sorts, it's what I used and it worked out great for El Mechiko. As mentioned, early on I did Front because I had a lot of speed going on when comparing it to the image, this only changed real late game, when I needed every advantage I could get to win the final.

Remove bottom left and put it in top left. Probably just not training for races correctly. Try to hit these stats and look at Gametora for what to expect from your career races and you will usually get at least goal 6/7.

follow a whale with a great spark to inherit

There's 3 years, Junior, Classic, Senior
Year 1, don't worry too much about stats, just go for the most people to stack friendship, pick choices that give energy for even more friendship chances.
Year 2 you start to focus on stats. Repeating the same type will level it up, don't spread too thin
Summer you get instant Lv5, now is the time to patch up rough bits since you can't level facilities here
Year 3 you hopefully have hit your breakpoints and can bakushin your speed.

Skills are good too.
The green ones are always active if you meet the requirement, Lv1 gives 40 to a stat, Lv2 gives 60. Pay attention. Heart or Shoe for Stam or Speed
Skills that work for a specific style/distance only are twice as good as generic always good skills.

i'm following this chart as a guideline right now for career mode. if i already meet the recommended stamina for the appropriate distance races, do i still need stamina recovery/healing skills?
