I never played any of the original 6 final fantasy games. Are they all worth bothering or should I only play a couple? I remember hearing IV and VI are great.

Why does /vr/ never talk about how dogshit UK game magazines were in the 90s

Honestly, I've given so many NES games a chance but almost all of them are either boring, unreasonably difficult or cryptic as fuck.
Even 1st party titles are pretty bad. Zelda 1 for example is literally bootleg-tier.
i'm not hating on the NES for its technical limitations because the gameboy has an infinitely more interesting library despite being more primitive. at least it has exciting stuff for it going on like pokemon.

What are some retro fightans, beat em ups, and/or hack and slash games that allow you to play as a cool or cute girl? Some of my favorite examples are Dynasty Warriors, Soulblade/Soulcalibur and Streets of Rage.

I like to point out the facts why DOOM 1+2 are so addictive and fun.

It is all about the monsters!
Notice that the monsters will not shoot you immediately!

They are not the generic modern
1) Walk forward to the player
2) Shoot
3) GOTO 1

They do not attack immediately.
They zig zag they basically dance if they have no space to move.

They dance and do not shoot.

This is what made the monsters fun to fight.

It took me years to find out that Dennis Rodman voiced Zack in this.

I got the mcc and played through Halo CE
Is it just me or is this game kind of overrated?

I've been at this for a while now and no matter what job combo I use it just seems impossible, she literally one shots my characters with Blizzara and there's nothing I can do!

Canonically, where is this place located? I always imagined it as outer space. The "special" being a constellation.
I was also familiar with the SFC clover logo because I had european magazines and saw the euro SNES, so it also felt like I was also inside some secret files/code of the console, which made it pretty cool.
Also, favorite Special level? Mine is Aswesome.

Played the BFG edition and the only thing they FIXED was the memed to death retarded flashlight/weapon swapping.

The entire game is retarded.

We need to go on a quest to find the twilight dragon, the cursed wave approaches.
God this game was so good for atmosphere and immersion. The fact that some of the NPCs had basic arcs as you go through the parts is a nice touch. It is a shame this series is locked up in a Bandai Namco vault. They could do so much with it now.

I’m interested in learning more about the Atari and where games “came from”. I started with a n64. what games do you think are best? I think it’s interesting learning about where videogames were during my dad’s generation. I know he played games like night driver in the arcade and liked them a lot.


Are the two other Atari consoles the 5000 and the 7000 just basically like the Xbox one and the Xbox one x? Or is it like the Xbox and the Xbox 360?


I remember when my dad bought me a n64 he was playing it a lot the first year or two we had it and it makes a lot more sense when I realize he was playing DOOM on PC and grew up playing Atari stuff or rudimentary arcade games. He was a big breakout fan also.


When I think of the guys making all the great games in the 90s and early 2000s I imagine they were probably just as excited about seeing how far things had progressed and what was possible to create “now”.

Why do people consider this one of the all time classic SEGA games? It's literally 20+ levels of just walking around and picking things up, and all the levels look the same.

I'm playing Silent Hill 2 OG For the firs the first time on Hard. It's Enhanced Edition. Any tips for me to survive the horrors of Silent Hill and not wandering around like an autist getting killed by monsters all the time?

I'd take Canary Mary over Toad's Slot Car Race any day.
