Some of the JP wikis try to and point out who's good right now and tend to get it right most of the time on nearly every JP game I've played but emphasis is the "right now" because the things they're writing are applicable only to the JP server at that present point in time and not the GLB server.
There's some anons that also try to write guides or make general use tierlists based on their experience playing JP too because people having guidance on how not to fuck up and reassurance from experience players that they're on the right track makes them feel better and stick to the game longer than having their questions met with "just b urself bro, you're not a metafag are you?" which frustrates them and causes them to quit.
So yeah, having some guidance is always much better for people than just really going at it blindly. It's why tierlists have always been popular and will always be popular despite the infinite grouching from self-professed intellectuals and pro gamers that consider themselves to be above the masses that need guides or resources.
