I felt the exact same way you do, but stuck to it to get my craft wins up and after 40 games I was somehow in diamond (which I haven't reached prior this season).
You also need to play enough to get a feel for scenarios if you aren't willing to think about opponents curves and your responses prior to playing and are like me who just likes to wing it.
About the lose streaks.
I'm 100% tinfoil on this, there is some kind of fuckery with the matchmaking where it changes the ladder based on your decktype.
So if your matchmaking "experience" is tailored to aggro and you swap all of a sudden it needs some time to go back to normal.
This can cause loss streaks if you keep flipfloping between decks.
You need to play about 10 game for the matchmaking to adapt to you and then another 30 to get a good statistic on how you are doing.
