Power means almost nothing when you are physically boxed in on the inside. That's where the skills come in to play, anon

If it was just a random failure (i.e. the Demon Core just randomly decided to flood the room with radiation aids) then it probably would have just been a footnote, but it's the monolithic retardation of fucking with the thing with a screwdriver whilst dressed in jeans that cements it as a meme.

Same, also my careers have been fucking trash except for a single Bakushin run I did to taste the flavor of victory for once.
But I've been having fun, isn't that the point of videogames?

This looks so goofy.
Why not make the villain be a supernatural pusher? Like someone who can sit back in the crowd, and use a persona, or a shadow/demon to kill people in the real world. Something only the awakened can see.

Based on that video, turns out, yes. The exact same system of careers lasting for X amount of time split into different phases

I haven't played it so I wouldn't know, but it sounds like an interesting theory

The story of Agnes Tachyon is pretty interesting. The horse came out of nowhere and imposed a dominant streak of four races and four victories in incredibly imposing fashion. It wasn't just against losers either, it was against the best peers of it's generation and it was absolutely devastating them. In reality Jungle Pocket wasn't a rival to it, no one thought that at the time (JP did have a rival but they aren't present in the movie). Rather, there was no trainer nor owner that really wanted to face Tachyon at all. The dynamic explored in the movie is meant to express what it felt like for other racers to be in the presence of Tachyon. An insurmountable challenge that came and vanished, leaving in it's wake only the question: If it hadn't gotten injured, could anyone else have contested it? Would it simply have taken the rest of the Triple Crown titles for itself? Can it's peers even be winners if they're only finding victory in it's absence? Jungle Pocket is the one chosen to explore this dynamic because Jungle Pocket was very close irl with Fuji Kiseki, who has a fuck ton in common with Tachyon. (thus why they were also in the movie despite being a honse of a prior generation). You could say that the story of the movie was one about the zeitgeist and mood of a short yet powerful era within Japanese horse racing. The era created by phantom champion known as Agnes Tachyon, the diligent Manhattan Cafe and the wild and untamed Jungle Pocket. A true J A M.
